Advanced Clustering Publishes New HPC Pricing Guide for 2022

Advanced Clustering Technologies has just published a new edition of its popular HPC Pricing Guide to provide details about the kind of high performance computing system that can be purchased within three distinct budget amounts.

“The last edition of our HPC Pricing Guide was released in May 2021 and featured systems that cost $150,000 or $250,000 or $500,000,” said Jim Paugh, Director of Sales at Advanced Clustering. “This new edition features essentially the same systems, meaning there aren’t new processors involved, but the budget amounts being featured are $175,000 and $280,000 and $530,000. In other words, it’s a year later, and you need more money to get the same system that was available in 2021.”

This HPC Pricing Guide features systems based on the latest processors from AMD (Milan) and Intel (Ice Lake) just as the previous edition did when it was published last spring.

“Our pricing guide gives you a quick, at-a-glance way to see what you can get for your money,” Paugh said. “How many compute nodes and login nodes are possible? How much storage?
What kind of networking?  You can also see the estimated power and cooling requirements for each system as well as the type of circuits that will be required in the data center.”

Advanced Clustering’s HPC Pricing Guide has been the most-requested document on the company’s website, advancedclustering.com, since it was first published in 2015.

“A few years ago one of our website visitors said that our HPC Pricing Guide is the most transparent look at HPC pricing that he had ever seen in his many years working in the HPC space,” Paugh said. “We were pleased to hear that because with this document, we really wanted to remove the mystery and provide a helpful resource for those who are doing the research to make an informed purchasing decision.”
