How Strong is Your Grant Proposal for HPC Funding?

Posted on October 29, 2016

The next deadline for proposals to the National Science Foundation’s Major Research Instrumentation Program is Jan. 11, 2017. Are you ready?

Advanced Clustering Technologies can help. We have published a white paper that outlines best practices for writing a successful grant proposal for HPC funding. The paper is based on the experiences of our customers who have received grant funding for HPC.

As the demand for HPC continues to grow, so does the competition for grant funding. In fiscal year 2015, the NSF received 811 MRI proposals and awarded 205 grants. That means last year, an MRI grant proposal had a 1 in 4 chance of success. One eighth of the proposals requested budgets of greater than $1 million.

Our white paper is intended to give you specific instructions and best practices for applying for a grant for the purpose of purchasing high performance computing solutions.
