We ask lots of questions because the details matter very much. What kind of workloads will you be running? What applications will be used? Will your datacenter be ready to support the cooling and power requirements? Who will manage this, and are they up to speed on everything or will they need guidance?

We interviewed PIs who have secured NSF grant funding in order to write a white paper that focuses on best practices for writing a grant proposal for HPC equipment. We also wrote a white paper about how to write an effective Request for Proposal (RFP) once you have secured grant funding.
