Account management

Managing users and groups is an important piece of a successful HPC or AI cluster. ClusterVisor makes it easy.

ClusterVisor LDAP

ClusterVisor provides its own LDAP server component for use inside your cluster, used to manage users and groups across all nodes. A full, easy-to-use web GUI is available for managing accounts, as well as command line tools. There’s no need to learn LDAP or create LDIF files to manage accounts.

Along with creating users, ClusterVisor can create home directories, SSH keys and Slurm accounting users automatically. This greatly simplifies onboarding new users to your system.

External LDAP

ClusterVisor’s internal LDAP server is great for many customers, but if you already have an LDAP or Active Directory infrastructure you’d like to authenticate against, that’s fully supported. ClusterVisor can even use its internal LDAP and an external LDAP at the same time, so you can create cluster-only service accounts while most of your users authenticate from your existing directory.

Role-based access control (RBAC)

ClusterVisor’s web UI provides a lot of useful information, some of which you may want your end users to see. By default, you must be a “Cluster Admin” to see information in ClusterVisor. With RBAC, you can define custom roles containing Unix users or groups (from the internal or external LDAP) that expose just the data you want those users to see.

See it on your cluster.
