Intel Xeon E5-2600v3 “Haswell” CPUs for HPC

We at Advanced Clustering are pleased to offer the next generation of Xeon processors from Intel — the “Haswell” E5-2600 v3 — in our Pinnacle and Horizon series of servers and workstations. These Haswell chips are a significant step forward in terms of performance for HPC. With increased core counts, double the number of dual-precision floating points from 8 to 16 as well as the introduction of 2133MHz DDR4 memory, the new Haswell Xeons will have a tremendous impact on the high performance computing (HPC) community.

  • 2x the floating point performance

New micro-architecture with AVX 2.0 instruction set for up to 2x improvement in floating point performance from previous generation Xeons. AVX now enables acceleration of integer-based workloads.

  • More energy efficient

Independent core and un-core frequency scaling to lower total power consumption. Energy-efficient Turbo 2.0 runs the CPU at higher than marked clock speeds.

  • Increased I/O performance

Up to 25% more memory bandwidth and up to 20% faster intra-processor communications than previous generation Xeon CPUs.
