Advanced Clustering provides innovative cluster management and software tools with every cluster purchased. These tools are provided for FREE and only with OUR Apex HPC Compute Clusters.

We've put our years of Clustering experience to work for you by testing and including the best open-source software in our ACT dir compilation, and developing our own tools when the products that exist just aren't good enough.

Breakin

Breakin is Advanced Clustering's own open-source hardware stress-testing and diagnostic utility that was designed to find faulty hardware where no other test suite could.

At Advanced Clustering, we applied our years of experience testing components and building computers to build a stress-test package like no other. Breakin features include:

No install required — boot from PXE, CD-ROM, or USB key
Tests memory, processors and hard drives
Free, open-source software

Cloner

Cloner is Advanced Clustering's powerful OS installation / imaging system, which is designed to be easy to install, set up, and use. You can install new nodes or re-install your entire cluster in just minutes. Some of its features include:

Image installation via PXE, CD/DVD-ROM, or USB key.
Optional multicasting of images for large clusters.
Easily create your own recovery CD/DVD-ROMs, with media spanning for large images.
Support for almost every Linux distribution.

ACT dir

ACT dir is Advanced Clustering's distribution of software that is installed on all of our cluster systems. Tools were selected based on their wide-spread adoption and best-of-breed feature sets, including:

Advanced Clustering products: Breakin, Cloner, and Beo Utils
Message-passing libraries: MPICH, MPICH2, OpenMPI
Job schedulers: Torque, GridEngine or Moab
Latest InfiniBand drivers from the Open Fabrics Alliance

Beo Utils

Beo Utils is Advanced Clustering's collection of management utilities to perform actions on nodes, groups of nodes, or all nodes in a cluster in parallel. All of the commands have easy, simple syntax and can be quite powerful. Features include:

Running a program on a node or group of nodes
Copying files to a node or group of nodes
Controlling power network PDUs to power nodes on and off remotely
