NSF Announces New Round of Campus Cyberinfrastructure Funding

The National Science Foundation has announced a new round of funding for high performance computing projects. Full proposals for the Campus Cyberinfrastructure program will be due by 5 p.m. submitter’s local time on Tues., Aug. 23, 2016.

The Campus Cyberinfrastructure program is a continuation of the NSF’s campus-level programs, which through the years has supported campus efforts to upgrade infrastructure in support of large science data flows, improved data storage and enhanced inter- and intra-campus collaborations.

The current solicitation features seven areas for potential funding:

• Data Driven Multi-Campus/Multi-Institution Model Implementation (up to $3M total for as many as four years)
• Cyber Team (up to $1.5M total for as many as three years)
• Data Driven Networking Infrastructure for the Campus and Researcher (up to $500K total for as many as two years)
• Network Design and Implementation for Small Institutions (up to $400K total for as many as two years)
• Network Integration and Applied Innovation ($1M total for as many as two years)
• Campus Computing (up to $500K for up to 3 years)
• Innovative Integrated Storage Resources (up to $200K for as many as two years)
